THE Following two links supply some needed information in order to better understand the human problem. That problem is essentially the physical problem of a creature that at once may come to be able individually to feel tremendous empathy. And at the same time (on the present physical level) this “compassionate” social animal cannot share right to the end with “the other” the same sandwich, wealth or world — and least of all the same space:
THE Above review reveals that the suicide-bombers are not “all” islamist screwballs and that they are motivated by other deeper and essentially biological drives, of group-identity and “group-feeling.” The importance of these was shown as long ago as in the 14th century-writings of ‘ibn-Khaldun (pbuh).
THE Second link uncovers the persisting element of egoism in virtually every dialog. This is a matter of the limits of language, narrative, which by definition is always more-or-less “contaminated” by the personal adventitiousness of physically isolated operators — and, the limited structure of language itself as a medium of communication between separate physical bodies. All of the foregoing points directly at the new spatial-dimensions in which the work of the Sufi is conducted.
