TO The Editor:
ALL Must be done possible to hold the President’s advisors feet to the fire and to make them talk to the Congress. In our generation a ridiculous amount of “professionalism” everywhere means that these baby-boom “experts” think that they are a law unto themselves. Nothing doing! This happens to be OUR country, the American Presidency historically has gotten out of control, and — while I do not support impeachment of the present cluck in office — we must begin now the longterm process of trimming the White House itself back into line. This means putting members of the inner circle on the spot. This is not a partisan issue and it makes no difference whether the President has a saxophone or a tin ear. Therefore testimony must be given with no “immunities,” and it may result perhaps in the handing over a few of the more self-absorbed personalities to the courts. There, they too can benefit from the opportunity of taking personal responsibility for themselves. This is the American way.
