In Coningsby, Mr Benjamin Disraeli wrote that there is no great real mystery about the processes by which a grand party transmogrifies into its opposite. Beguiling temptation and falsehoods readily are to be observed as they arise. Rather, the blame for party failure lies in the fact that party managers not only tolerate the perpetual advent of indiscriminate novelties; they positively take disgraceful advantage of every spontaneous circumstance for their own advancement, of “purposes” daily the more nebulous, not-certain, all unfixed and drifting now…. But, alas, wicked activity eventually and always veers into the criminal. This is the lesson of History: The american Democrat Party notoriously are said for years to have been in receipt of monies from the Han Chinese; and, in the grubby nature of postmodern things therefore and decay and the general relativism of principle, Christ alone knows what secrets some senior GOP “types” may be — nay, are! — harboring, today. After all, it is said in self-hypnotic tones both disapprobatory and self-pitiful, the Democrat Party may be said to have their foreign cash and “superdelegates….” We must get our share, too, so goes the rallying abandoned cry I think. Therefore in such an other-directed downward sewer as today’s and as matters stand now, there is only one question that confronts ordinary Republicans at home in America in this election year of 2008, and all who are american and constitutional, actual, conservatives; and, not loose-bowelled “liberals; and, not these “neo-conservative” quacks; and, not the retained loathsome things in thrall to foreign goverments; and, that question for all persons who try to be decent at least in all affairs, private and public, is:
How much longer shall strict conservatives continue to tolerate hysteria and panic’s illegitimate foreign fumblings; and, to underwrite televised “rightwing” historical illiterates; and, the rotten nonsense of slick soft “centrist” giveaway-artists; and, all the blissful froth and delightful witless hatreds spewed by nationalist and not-patriotic dilettantes; and, that has nothing to do whatever in God’s Earth with the moral and constitutional and legal sanctity: of all of the properties, of each and every, individual, American citizen?
