This link was supplied yesterday, by an english correspondent:
Upon giving it the once-over, I forwarded it to some of The Intelligent Bad Element on this side of the Atlantic.
Sir Coiner, Baron, Nejmi, hare Weitbrecht:
What do you four mugs make of this, alas longish, screed?
At the end, it all does turn into a panegyric for the Democrat Party, and as well conflates conservatism and “conservativism’ — but along the way it does also adduce a pattern of alarming assertions, especially about the political ambitions of some of these incorporated Tee Vee “christians.”
The Baron of course will remember Robert A Heinlein’s novel, Revolt In 2100 — about the uprising to come then against an american theocracy, one indeed founded somewhen around now.
(Aunty, you might well enjoy this SF-glimpse into the hysterical element of the american fundamentalist collective soul, you tea-drinking English gent you!)
I am curious as to whether I should make a lot of noise about this all, in Bodwyn Wook?
Or, to just link it under a brief summary?
For we all must remember this, I think:
What is the additive effect?
There is so much about “conspiracy” afloat everywhere that one really must examine what responsibility one may have finally, to not pass along every depressing bit. It all adds up to negativity, precisely like the “global warming” stuff — and, the real effect, altogether, may be to overwhelm “the people’ with depressed hopelessness.
(Then, as a PS, I appended the following:
(Aunty, thank you! By-the-by, have you heard of this renegade Cornishman — Trevor, Trelawney, Tribade, the name escapes me — who argues that the global tussle between the Vatican and the house of Windsor is the cynosure of the whole sheaf and boiling of interlocking plots? I first learned of it all from The Baron, who handed me the hellish documents in the early 1990s, and am sorry to tell you I’ve quite lost the stapled screed. It is all quite ingenious and actually, well, most convincing!)
