[Ferret’s is an American voice of to-day. She is a 2008 maths graduate now doing advanced research at home and ranching with her parents, on the northern Great Plains. With her kind consent we have published here an expanded version, by her, of an earlier comment by her, in the pp of Bodwyn Wook — ed]
Holt [writer’s fiance — ed] and I want to have children when we get married.
But we don’t want to leave them as vulnerable as we are to bullshit being cooked up by people a thousand miles away. Especially not people like these now who just have to look out the window once to get their swivel chair sized asses stuck up to the lugnuts in Iraq and Afghanistan and other [people’s] business they do NOT know fuck-all about.
These people first of all don’t do work any more than most of the college administrators I’ve dealt with, not really, and they do not even know anything about us here at home in the US to begin with, let alone muslims. Frankly they themselves would just starve, die, rot and blow away in the dust with the rest of the powdered cowshit if their fancy system of salaries and perks just happened to cave in.
Now you are going to try to scare me with stuff about what if — without the federal government and maybe-someday national healthcare — we couldn’t get the most advanced medical care for our kids?
That is a streak of shit and it draws an entirely-iffy connection between these DC hood rats and technology, its real costs and benefits.
It’s also supposed to scare us all into guilt and dependency.
The really disgusting implication is that nobody can possibly take care of themselves in the first place, and that doctors are all greedy sluts who don’t have any more values or concern for others than too many of the insurance and government managers. And so the doctors have to be supervised by these same tools for our own good.
Secondly — pay attention! — I said children.
It is at least as important to be loved and wanted as to have the most [extravagant] artificially highpriced technology you can think up, and to bargain away your souls in the process, so maybe without all the junk we would lose a baby. But who says that’s the end in the first place? We’ll have more than one baby just as people have always done. And, what does my baby’s death have to with freedom any more than if you let him or her grow up just to con them into the military and kill them off in East Bum Egypt somewhere?
The point is that never mind hightech medicine, all death is also personal. Love according to you old hippies is supposed to be the answer. Well then let it be the answer and make sure the little child or baby is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. That we already know how to do.
So I am not arguing about Christian Science here anyway, this is about freedom.
And yes, Holt and me and everyone we know would just as soon walk and be independent if the federal mess can’t be cleaned up anymore.
Just how likely do any of you think THAT is?
(Sorry, I got BAD saddle ass this ride! Never EVER swim in alkali pans just because there’s been a ginormous hundred year toad washer!)
