Needless to say, although as a Libertarian I did not vote for him, I am delighted by the Obama presidential win and “happier than a pig in shit,” as we say down here on the Southern Tier.
There are bad problems with the overdone and lunatic, hypermaniac, American presidency, though, and I only hope that Mr Obama will not sink completely out of sight too soon, in the slime & and non-productive credentialist clutches of the career apparatchiks & think tank piranha fish….
Moving right along, there is a widespread postmodern misconception that country and smalltown people are much more in touch with Nature than their city counterparts, for instance in Mankato The Accursed. It is said that rustic Minnesotans notably have a more wholesome attitude toward the natural world. Well, the Minnesota farmers hereabouts in the Spring and Summer do drive all over Hell spraying stuff on Nature, repeatedly. Meanwhile, THIS lost & found notice (down below) showed up today on the phone pole outside of the PO lobby, here in Eagle Lake, in Squawbunion County, MN, on the North Coast of Iowa.
(I crossed out the name and phone number of the mayor, so as to prevent any embarrassment to anybody!)
Needless to say, lots of folk around here also get annoyed and “mad as Hell” (I wonder why they get so sore about it, after all it is just a fact, and not only some opinion or something?) at my frequent statement everyday up at the eating restaurant, that “us Americans these days are, on average, dumber than ever before!” However, I for one happen to think that Mr Obama will probably be a better President than most of these clucks around here actually deserve. For some reason though, whenever I say so, this doesn’t seem to make any of them any happier about it….
