Another artifact of the railway age now seldom thought about were the great Sunday newspapers. Our mother in the 1930s got copies every weekend of the Chicago Tribune Early Sunday Edition from the Cummins grocery store in Eagle Lake, MN, near Mankato, and cut out the comics for her scrapbooks. I am glad to tell you that the Smokey Stover and Spooky cartoons by Bill Holman are now available online at the link below…lots of them, too!
