The Grossman Project is the intricate family story of at least three hundred people, as traced by Max Elijah Grossman, beginning in 1996. This is the link:
Hundreds of thousands if not millions of Jews fled the bloody ground of Eastern Europe at the time of the murderous tsarist pogroms of the 1880s, and later. Many of these came to the Upper Midwest in search of new lives. Full of grief — and terror, let us never forget that! — for all whom they were leaving behind, many families came to Minneapolis. They married, raised children, grandchildren, moved to new homes and lives across America. They are the forebears and cousins, near and far, of the creator of the Grossman Project, Max Elijah Grossman. Their story, woven with all our family-tales, is the story of America.
People raised in Minneapolis, or who have lived there for a long time, all will especially enjoy this website for sake all of its many connections of the people in it to the city’s neighborhoods and suburbs.
