I am sorry, but this Rand Paul, like Hank Williams, Jr, and Michael Douglas, is just another one of these public characters who is flat-out not fit follow in his father’s footsteps; like Franklin Graham or the sons of Old Joe Kennedy, young Paul’s is simply the clapped-out old knack for the slogan and the cliche. Bellyaching (on behalf of much-picked-upon BritPet!) that corporation-bashing somehow is “un-American” takes the rather stale cake. These huge and inert, silurian, agglomerations of lunging fiat-money are not (!) Mom & Pop frowsting it entrepreneurially on Main Street and getting run out of their bakery-business by WalMart. Alas, in defending the indefensible Rand Paul thereby is self-revealed (and lolling back?) as a sort of easy convenient jabberer or facility of easement and slop jar for the Tea Party caucuses; and, still worse, the false distinction (it is one in the end actually antisemitic!) that too, too many Libertarians persist in making, between corporation and government, is going to simply lead to the collapse of the libertarian movement right back into the herpaceous guilty arms of the Rape Ugly Con Party. Long before the murderous and filthy, rapacious, descent & thrust of Democrat lying (“EVERYBODY’S gonna get better…promise!”) Subsidy Professionalism & Public Liberals on to a dying economy, the corporations of the century-before-last were sucking huge moolah from off of Uncle Sugar & The Party Of Lincoln, and plus dealing in smoke & mirrors and the fiction of corporate “personhood” in order to duck responsibility. The depredations of capitalism led by way of central banking to the wishful deceits & book-keeping tricks of Progressivism. This was especially the case with coal and steel, and the railroads, and Ted Kennedy was simply not the first guy in the long tale of the Old Atlantic West to swim up from out of the sea after some derailment to say he “didn’t know what happened”. Old Jung said, as to this sort of amnesiac unconsciousness, that any human group bent on a large common purpose, and even supposing all of its individual members to be entirely-moral and conscious personalities on the qui vive, nonetheless in the last analysis will — must — behave like a large, stupid, unwieldy and, untimately, violent animal. The story of the Democrat Party that for good long time reposed its Hope & Faith in education in this last connection is truly to be grieved, at least by all who care for the human struggle to advance, the moral theme in History. Now, alas, the “university” system across the land is but another huge engine of debt & indenture & grinding slavery; and, it is a huge be-turbaned weasel, utterly Toorkish in character & Asiatic, lolling under languid fans of ostrich slow plumes on the backs of our, now, for ever God-damned young graduates, all toiling under the huge curse & greed & bankrupt plural immoralities of their digitalizing parents and depraved grandparents. Whatever is wrong with our anachronistic late-modern politics is likewise wrong with the ensemble of “our” institutions writ large in this early postmodernity; this is our unworkable situation, and it well may be one not to be remedied any longer from within. The buccaneering rubber cutlass of limp Master Rand Paul is just plain nothing to the point now.
It is accordingly repulsive to see the hopeful message of liberty being vampirized and sucked to a meaningless husk from within the senectuous stinking hulk of the Old Order & God-damned Old Party, all adrift in oily shallows & plastic prehensile soda-straws bristling at every coconut gunport.
