Metadata Means Metacrime
by B Wook
“Much ‘data’ does not — perhaps it simply cannot — Wisdom make; but, in History it is going to make possible crimes on a scale that Heinrich Himmler in Hell can only drool over.” [Bodwyn Wook]
So now, then, THIS may be the REAL reason to boot Obamacare right smack dab in the ass!
The well-adjusted urban reader employed in a cubicle under metrosexualized conditions of abstraction at a third or seventh remove from immediate physical reality will ask, why worry about this so much? These data nets are now with us for good & all, they are the wonder of the age, and surely we will learn to live with any problems that may arise.
Well, now, successful resolution of problems of abuse of “information” depends on what & who holds power in the Future — this, today, is far more open-ended than many as yet realize; given the capacity for malice in the politics of our own repulsive generation, in a scenario where the material bases of our lives are really in ruins, this type of informational system then could be used in Evil ways.
Just as every previous human technology has been applied to doing Evil, so the Holocaust of WW II Jewry was implicit in the first loads of cattle driven aboard the cattle cars on the new RRs in Kansas in the 1870s….
Another dimension enters with the global factor in “our” economy:
Increasingly, “our” money supply exists solely (NB) at the discretion of foreign lenders; many of these are members of cultures anchored in far different bases than our own.
On the Shadow side, it follows that persons holding power over us from non-Western backgrounds will have their own moral challenges to meet, for example in finding easy rationalizations for the deliberate imposition of programs of medical neglect, starting mass famines & so forth, all as public policy as well as warfare strategies.
Much “data” does not — perhaps it simply cannot — Wisdom make; but, in History it is going to make possible crimes on a scale that Heinrich Himmler in Hell can only drool over.
