A Note on Terms in Our Initial Historical Analysis of the Constitutional Failure of the ‘Security State’
by Bodwyn “Noam Korzybski” Wook
Properly speaking, a ‘security state’ would indeed guarantee the constitutional rights of the people [Philip bobbitt, qv — ed]; that, indeed, is its ONLY means of self-legitimation.
However, what is emerging to-day is, perhaps, the last declension of the ideal form of ‘governance’ sought a century ago by Progressives.
They worked, beginning five generations ago, to professionalise above all domestic socialwork & take it out of the hands of corrupt big city party ‘machines’, esp in North America & that provided jobs & Xmas baskets in return for votes.
The ideals of Progressives were high, so high that they likewise “took ambition,” as an American friend raised in New Kensington, PA, would put it, and so they undertook the ‘democratisation’ of the entire Atlantic World.
And, then, under American Presidents Roosevelt & Eisenhower the optimists of all parties began a sublimely fiascative & companion corporate fiscal quest for…the World.
Throughout, larger & larger sums of money were directed in subsidy of the great companies, in the main for arms & industrial agriculture.
These organisations, to-day, as Market States [Philip Bobbitt, qv — ed], now menace the constitutional & territorial states that gave them birth & Progressive ideals have descended through the final bureaucratic impossibilities of the Therapeutic State, and NOT now to yield at last any ‘security’ whatsoever for any of the ordinary men & women of everyday.
None of THAT, now, indeed, for to-day we sink in the goo & trans-world quagmire of the incorporated global prison systems of a hardly more-palatable Custodial State.
