A consequence little unanticipated of a so-called ‘death’ of so-called ‘privacy’ as yet may be the resurrection for further development of an actual self-standing domain of Privacy.
This domain consists in the ENTIRE internalisation of the imaginal condition by some creative workers & perhaps now, again, shall come to prevail once more over many generations.
This cultural change in our creative circumstances, a matter perhaps of interest to some historians, in turn may prove precursory to a return to the unfinished (NB) cultural business of the alchemical insights of the late-mediaeval & early-modern periods, before the advent of the more-extraverted cartesian conception of Science.
In any case, not only Science as most recently known is in collapse, but many other human conceptions, too, of the Renascence civilisation now ending, along with the Late Modern.
This is first & foremost because of what Marx first identified as the relentless ineluctable accumulation in societies of ‘internal contradictions’; this pattern of remorseless & hideous decay afflicts all human ‘systems’ necessarily as a physical condition of entropy, and not merely any single symbolic system such as ‘capitalism’.
THE great undergirding trope of the whole modern period indeed has been in a host of ways the more-and-more inadequate (NB) Literalism of the dominant symbols of ‘reality’.
Such a condition most of all is intolerable to the Imagination because of the sheer BOREDOM of it all; and, that detestable ennui coming on top of the sheer atrocity & murders that inevitably arise as the mature beleaguered synarchs & stake-holders in the old order squirm & battle in hopeless defence of theit out-worn condition.
Among many other consequences, the death of Nature as IS now happening beyond all hope of any remedy whatsoever & a dearth of socially-toned ‘privacy’ may herald a necessary return of the Imagination (of Nature & housed, at least for now, in ourselves merely!) to an ‘inner attitude’.
There are, of course, OTHER ‘rulers’ in the World than those old-time hetmen beleaguered & doomed as noted above; hence, the Sufi synarchs of the Institute [al-muasisa — tr] see quite clearly what is now quite lacking everywhere in the ‘global’ bath of mammalian marketing & pornography.
THE great problem as Sufis see it is that of any so-called ‘dominant’ species among the Worlds [al-alamina — tr] that has never enjoyed a great deal of success at its own struggle to evolve an effective moral system of self-rule.
And, ‘first & last’ as Adolf Galland wrote, the moral aspect cannot not be the central focus of all on-going alchemical work at this time.
